About

About Rod & Reel

Straight-talking gear reviews and buying guides for anglers.

RodAndReel.co exists to make buying fishing tackle less confusing and less expensive. We cut through the marketing to the gear that actually catches fish, so you can spend less time researching and more time on the water.

How we make recommendations

Every product we recommend is evaluated against the manufacturer's published specifications and the consensus of experienced anglers. We compare gear ratios, drag systems, rod power and action, line characteristics, and build quality — the things that actually predict how a piece of tackle performs.

What we don't do is invent data. You won't find fabricated star ratings, made-up test results, or fake testimonials anywhere on this site. When we call something a good value or a confidence bait, it's based on real specs and how anglers report it fishing — not marketing copy.

How we're funded

RodAndReel.co is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no additional cost to you — as an Amazon Associate and an eBay Partner, we earn from qualifying purchases. Those commissions keep the site running, but they never decide our recommendations.

The network

Rod & Reel is part of a small family of fishing and boating sites. Once you've sorted your tackle, our sister sites cover what finds the fish at FishFinders.co and the gear that rigs your boat at BoatGear.co.

Prices and availability

Tackle prices and stock change constantly, so we don't publish prices that go stale. Our links take you to the current listing so you always see today's price. Always confirm specs and fit on the retailer's page before buying.
